One last one for today.....

Ok so this is the last post for today. I hope I made up for being MIA this past week. This one is another challenge by Beate over at Fresh and Fun. She puts on a Sketch challenge each weekend and I decided to join again this week. The cool thing about all 3 sketches I did is that they were all for the most part simple sketches this week. Ok so the ONE was a bit of work for me, but I got them all done in less then 2 hours. Now just if I could get going on my Scrapbook pages for this month I would be doing great....LOL. Ok so on to the sketch....

For this one I need to send out a long over due thank you card so I decided I would use this sketch for it. As usual all the items are Stampin' Up! unless other wise noted. This is one of the I purchased from Stampin' Up! before I became a Demonstrator in June 2001 and I still love it.

Inks: Always Artichoke, More Mustard, Ruby Red, Not Quit Navy and Basic Brown

GIFT Cards

Ok so everyone knows what a RAK is (well just in case: Random Act of Kindness). So one of the groups I have belonged to since I joined Stampin' Up! is SU-Girlfriends. Over the years we have grown and shrunk but it seems that the core ladies are still their. We have gone through a lot with each other. Well our new on going swaps it called GIFT (Girlfriends Into Fun Trading). It is a Round Robin type of swap. So I have received a few that I got pictures of. I know I am missing one but I can't seem to find it. When I do I will add it to the collection.

The first one was made by Elizabeth Kratzer and uses the new Deer Friends Level 2 Hostess set.And 2 new In Colors: Pacific Point and Kiwi Kiss and don't forget about that all new WONDERFUL scalloped edge punch!

The next 2 are from Barbara Edwards. The second of the 2 is done with Simply Sent Card Elements Flower Power.

Yeah!! More Cupcakes!!

Ok so I love this new challenge that I found. I love cupcakes so Taylored Expressions cupcake challenge is just perfect. So this week is the second one I have joined. And I had a blast with it. I finished it very quickly, it took me less then 20 minutes to get it done. So what is the sketch that was so fast?!? It also worked great for the Dutch Dare, which was a girl themed card.

So on to my card. As usual all items are from Stampin' Up! unless other wise noted.

Card Stock: Rose Red, Whisper White and Rose Red DSP (retired)

Inks: Rose Red SWM and Pretty in Pink SWM

Accessories: Large Oval Punch, Small Oval Punch, Horizontal Slot Punch, wide White Grosgrain (retired), 2 way glue pen and Dazzling Diamonds (can't really tell in the picture but I put it on the sprinkles on the cupcakes)

WOW!! what a week.....

Sorry I have been gone for most of the week. I hope you are still here. This week was a busy week from the girls starting school, Girl Scouts officially started back up, Soccer started up, I started watching kids during the day again, and all the fun little things that fit in between. Anyway, So last night I sat down to stamp for the first time since Monday. So I decided I would start with Technostampers Monday Challenge. Seeing it was Saturday I figured it would be a good start before she posted the next challenge...LOL. So here is the sketch.....

I had a tough time with this challenge because no matter what I did it felt off balance so I basically "gave up" and went with this one. As usual everything is Stampin' Up! unless other wise noted.

Are you sitting down?? (cupcake challenge #30)

Ok, dumb question since you are probably reading this at your computer. Are you ready to hear this? I managed to do 3 challenges in one week!!! Check me out...LOL Ok so my Monday challenge didn't get posted until late Tuesday night/ Wednesday morning but it is only Saturday and I am now on #3. The challenge came today when I was surfing around and when I found it I figured I would use it to get me busy on the card I needed to make for a Birthday get together for a Friend I have known since Kindergarten..... go figure it has been 27 years and she still likes me ;-)

So this is a challenge from Taylored Expressionsand it is called Cupcake Challenge #30. And you all know how I LOVE cupcakes, they have taken over my love of hearts. As you know I used to own every heart stamp set that Stampin' Up! came out with. Well, I think the cupcakes have won now.....LOL

So here is the layout we are to follow:

 

Ok so on to the card (I must say it is my favorite 6x6 card I have made). It did however require a lot of cutting of tiny pieces. All the items used are Stampin' Up! unless other wise noted.

Stamp Set: Crazy for Cupcakes

Card Stock: Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Berry Bliss DSP (retired) and Bella Rose DSP

Ink: Basic Black IP, Pretty in Pink IR and Going Gray IR

Accessories: Whisper White Taffeta, Crystal Effects, Mono Multi, Shaving Cream (obviously not SU!), Mini Glue Dots and Paper Snips

I did the shaving cream technique for the cupcake tops and again for the stand. The stand in person has more of a swirl/ reflective effect then what shows up in the picture.

Woo Hoo! I finally got the pictures up.....

What pictures you ask? Well the pictures of this past weekends Mystery Hostess/ Open House of course. I know I said I would have them up on Saturday after it was over but I had someone stop by right as I was breaking down. She had just come from an apt and was running late to get to somewhere else but wanted to stop by and place her order. So I gave her mine and had to re-stamp them to get pictures. So last night I re-stamped them. I sent out the Inspired by Nature card as my SU-GF "gift" card swaps also. Well if you missed last weekend here are the projects you missed. This one is a Gift Card Holder. You cut it  8x 2 3/4 inches and score at the 1 and 4 inches and then decorate as you want. I will post a tutorial on it some time this week with more samples.

Halloween Haunt

So my favorite Blog to visit is Kristina Werner's. I was so excited to meet her at convention that I drug my down-line (hi Leslie) over to meet her also. And not only did we get to meet her but she also signed my Idea Book and Catalog. Jealous? I would totally be........LOL.... Anyway, she does a color challenge each week and I never seem to find the time to do them but this week I did.

So here is the challenge that she did for this week. Now only if I can find those cute buttons in black. :-)

 

 

Ok so on to the card I came up with. It wasn't quit what I was going after but it works. My first thought was to do a card with flowers but then I decided that maybe I would do a Halloween invite since my daughters (5 & 7) want to have a small party with our Girl Scout troop again this year. Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge #31

EDITED:Saturday, August 23, 2008; I have received a lot of questions about the Rhapsody in Deutsch stamp set. Yes, it is from Stampin' Up!. It is from the German Idea Book and Catalog. And the answer to what it means is basically "Happy Birthday" or "Best wishes for your Birthday".

So on Monday TechnoStamper posted her Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge and i sat down and played with my new stamps form convention to come up with a card. I must say I loved this challenge and I think it is my favorite she has done so far. I decided to make this a card for my MIL card box. Which I promise one day I will decorate and post.... I have until December to get it done ;-) and you all know how well I procrastinate when it comes to stamping. Here is the sketch......
