A little over a week ago Christia turned 6. And if you follow my Blog you know the theme was "CUPCAKES". So the invite seen here was done with Crazy with Cupcakes and done in pinks and browns. Thus began the whole party theme. All the kids decorated their party favor bags with the Cupcakes wheel, crayons and stickers. Then they each decorated 2 cupcakes: 1 to take home and the other to eat as "birthday cake". I had 2 tables set up with tons of cupcakes, 3 flavors of icing and TONS of candies, decorativesugars and sprinkles for them to use. 54 cupcakes later they were done and happy! It was the cutest thing watching them all decorate their cupcakes. All the pictures have other kids in them and I don't want to plaster my daughters Kindergarten class on the web, sorry, so you will just have to imagine...... The main reason she wanted a cupcake party is because she wanted a Jumbo Cupcake as her cake.
I love this cake pan the cakes always turn out so cute. Even if Mom doesn't have time to pull out the tips to make it super cute. But that didn't matter, you would have thought it was the best cake ever. Even the boys told me it was "COOL".
I decorated the cake to look like the cupcakes on the banner, which my daughter LOVED and now has hanging in her room. Or at least the CHRISTIA part. The Happy Birthday is from Cuttle Bug. The rest is Stampin' Up! exclusive dies for the Big Shot. You can see a close up of the cupcake here .
I also decorated the ceilings with pinks and white to match the pretty in pink and Rose Red I used. My oldest daughter who doesn't like pink came out after I finished and said and I quote "Oh my Gosh it looks like Cupid threw up in here". She was right too, way to much pink for me. To which her sister had to come out and see and said "It"S ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS MOM!! I LOVE IT!!!! I guess her opinion was the only one that really counted since it was her party. The picture doesn't show how pink it really made my house look, but it does give you an idea. The pig hearts floating are 26 inches wide for an idea of the size.
Now for the real stampin' part...... the thank you's. Christia wanted me to use the Simple Birthday Thanks. So I did.... LOL Here it is closed
Stamp Set: Simple Birthday Thanks
Card Stock: Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red and Berry Bliss DSP (retired)

Love ya Baby Doll!!! Happy Birthday!

My mom that is. Last year my mom had knee Surgery on her right knee. And Yesterday she had to have her left one done. So I decided to take Beate's weekend sketch to make her a card. Instead of a normal get well soon or thinking of you I thought I would do a card a bit more upbeat like she is. My mom is 66 years old but has the energy of someone in their 30's. She is always up to something and involved in everything she can to keep her busy. She has always been a busy person and I will attribute the fact that I get involved in everything to her. I seem to always have my plate, bowl, cup and dessert plate full. And like her I tend to do my best when I have a lot to get done. I also pick up being a procrastinator from her too....LOL. Anyway, since my girls wanted to brighten her day they made her a banner for her room while she is recovering (I will post it later) so I made her card to match, kind of.
To start here is what the original sketch was
As usual all items are from Stampin' Up! unless other wise noted.
Stamp set: NONE- I know, I know, how dare I not use a set
Card Stock: So Saffron, Certainly Celery,Whisper White and Delicate Dots DSP (from SAB)
Inks: Whisper White Craft
Accessories: On Board Loads of Letters (112084), Coluzzle (102264), Heat & Stick powder (100625), Dazzling Diamonds (102023), White Eyelets (retired), Big Shot (113439), Stampin' Up Pennant Die (113483) Will explain at the end, Mini Glue Dots (103683) and Crop-A-Dile (108362)
I wanted a scalloped edge around the circle and I had left over scalloped circles from making the banner so I cut off the scallops and adhered them to the back of the circle.

Ok I'm not referring to my sample but to the cupcake on it. As you know if you follow my Blog I love cupcakes. Matter of fact I like them more then cake, I know they are basically the same thing but for some reason cupcakes just seem to taste better and they are cuter too. Anyway, when Stampin' Up!'s new IB&C came out with the cupcake die in it I knew I needed to get it. So when I was told I had some money to spend on Stamp stuff, I had to get it. Now that being said it arrived today. In the middle of me working on other things but I had to stop and play with it. So I decided I would make the first part of my Daughters Banner for her Birthday. So here you go..... my first attempt at using the Pennant and cupcake die.
As usual everything is from Stampin' Up! unless other wise noted.
Card Stock: Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Barley Banana, Summer Sun, Close to Cocoa and Berry Bliss DSP (Retired)
Accessories: The Stampin' Up! exclusive dies Pennant and Big Bold Cupcake, Big Shot, Extended cutting pads, crimper and taffeta ribbon (non SU!)
Just as a side note for all of you Stampin' Up! has 17 exclusive dies for the Sizzix Big Shot that you can't get anywhere else!! How cool is that! Plus as a added bonus they match our stamp sets!
Here is a close up of the cupcake

One of my friends had a Birthday this Sunday. I had asked her what she wanted and she never answered so last night I sat down and made her a Name Frame and a Card using the same paper from the frame and TechnoStamperschallenge. I would have posted it last night but I know she follows my BLOG and didn't want to spoil the surprise. So now that she has her gift I can share it with all of you. Here is the Challenge sketch we were to follow.
As usual all items are from Stampin' Up! unless other wise noted.
Stamp Set: Inspired by Nature and Big Bold Birthday (Happy Birthday)
Card Stock: AlwaysArtichoke, River Rock(retired), Very Vanilla and Le Jardin DSP(retired)
Inks: Always Artichoke SWM, Apricot Appeal SWM, Mellow Moss SWM, Close to Cocoa SWM and Basic Black SWM
Accessories: Vintage Brads, Paper Piercer and Ruler
I wasn't sure what to do for her but knew that she hadn't made a frame yet so I decided that would be a good gift for a stamper. And now for the Frame....
Stamp Set: Headline Alphabet(retired)
Card Stock: Always Artichoke, River Rock(retired), Very Vanilla and Le Jardin DSP(retired)
Inks: Always Artichoke IP and IR
Accessories: Pretties Kit, Aqua Painter, Hodge Podge Hardware(retired), Chocolate Chip Grosgrain, Prima Flowers (non-SU!), Mini Glue Dots, Ruler and Frame

Since I got so many questions on how I make the little decorative picks for the cupcakes I said I would do a quick tutorial on them. So, here I am.
To start I am going to answer a few questions that keep coming up. 1) What type of toothpicks and I using? Over the years it has changed according to the kind I have on hand. So really any kind should work. 2) Why do I use a heart punch instead of one SU! carries. To be honest because I am being lazy. When you make 24 for each bag they get to be a bit tedious. And as you will see later the heart punch allows me to not have to mask or use a SWM. 3) Where do I get the shaped cupcake pans? The one in the picture came from Target but usually I get them from Joann's. They are actually a little cheaper at Joann's then Target but Joann's was out of Hearts when I went do to Valentine's coming up. Also as a side note we usually include an extra gift that is something that the Birthday Girl likes (a book, lip gloss's, etc).
Ok so on to the Tutorial.... See "2 years later" for all the details on what you need to make them.
Stamp Image you want on your Picks. Depending on your next punch you may need to mask an image or use a SWM to only get the image you want.
Punch image out. You can either color it before or after which ever is easier to you.
Punch our a layer to go under your image and above your final layer of the pick.
Punch a larger layer for you background. I like the scallop punch because it is a nice size for cupcakes and it make a cute back layer.
Now that you have your main pieces. Adhere your stamped image to the front of the middle layer. Then place a Dimensional on either side of a tooth pick tip. See image.
Now attach the front to one side and the back layer to the other side of your toothpick.
TA-DA you have you first cupcake pick. Now just to repeat it for however many you need. I usually include 24 picks because the average cake mix makes 24 cupcakes.
(sorry my pick is a bit lopsided, my son thought it would be fun to play with before I got to take the final picture)

Ok I know I had said I was going to try to get this up yesterday but my Husband was working on the computer. It has been acting up lately and he was fixing it. So I am a day late for yesterday but a day early for a Tuesday Tutorial, Right?
Ok so here is how I make the 3-D flower you see in the SAB mini.
To start I cut the Designer Series Paper at 1 1/4 inch x 12 inches. I am sure you can cut it differently but this is the size I liked and it made for easy measuring.
Next run the strip you just cut through your Scalloped Edge Punch. This will make she scoring much easier then measuring all the way across.
Now all you have to do is score at the "Valley" all the way across your strip. Now how cool is that.... no measuring!! The super awesome Scalloped Edge Punch did it for you!
Ok now it is time to revert back to when you were a kid and made paper fans. You fold up then down then and down again until you reach the end of your strip.
Put a little SNAIL on the one end. (I have made about 10 of these and haven't had a problem with using SNAIL)
Adhere the 2 ends together to get a circle. And now for the tricky part.......
Now while holding it with one hand push the inside (hidden) edge down. Making sure that the Side of the DSP you want hidden is facing up. Once you get it flattened and squeezes the center together place a Pop-Up Dot on the center to hold it in place. You can let go of you flower now; it will fold up a tiny bit but will not stick to itself.
If you haven't done so already prep your card so that it is basically finished. Once you put the flower on it will become very difficult to adhere the layers together.
Now place your flower on your card and decorate the center how you want to finish it off. I use SNAIL to hold down the center and didn't have a problem. I did however notice when I tried to use Dimenisionals to hold the center down you CAN'T put only one in the center because it tends not to stick, as the dimensional sits inside the small "hole" in the center of the flower.
Ta-Da there you have it your very own 3-D Flower. Notice the difference in the 2 flowers. The one on the Left the scalloped edge is on the outside and the right it is flat on the outside.
Good Luck and if your try it be sure to drop me a commit with a link to your card so I can check it out.
Do to so so many questions I will post a tutorial about the tooth picks for the cupcakes tomorrow.
