You've got a friend in me!

Now it is just me or does it happen to you too? Every time I read the phrase stamp "you've got a friend in me" I think of Disney's Toy Story and of course then the song gets stuck in my head. I am sure I am not the only one out there but I thought I would ask. Or at least I hope I'm not alone!! Am I the only crazy one?!?

Ok lets move on to the card. I used the Diva Coffee Break Design Challengeand the Stamping411 challenge together to make my card. Don't you just love with 2 challenges can be used together for one card! I do! 

As usual all the items used are from Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

Stamp Set: Cheep Talk

Inks: Rose Red IP, Regal Rose IP, Sage Shadow SWM and Chocolate Chip SWM

Card Stock: Rose Red, Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip and Confetti White

Accessories: Whisper White Grosgrain, Button Latte and Mini Glue Dots

Thursday Night...... and Blog Candy too!

....were you here? We were a small group but we had fun! If you missed it here is what you missed. 

We started with a fall card that could double as a Halloween card. 

Stamp Set: Autumn Harvest and Baroque Motifs

Inks: Old Olive IP, Chocolate Chip IP & SWM and Basic Black IP

Card Stock: Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Old Olive, Only Orange and Naturals White

Accessories: Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain, dimensionals, and Snips

 

The next card they did was a Birthday Card.

Stamp Set: Wow Flowers and Itty Bitty Backgrounds

Inks: Chocolate Chip

Card Stock: Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink and Close to Cocoa

Accessories: Big Shot, Big Bold Cupcake die, crimper, 2 way glue, dazzling diamonds, dimensionals and Chocolate Chip grosgrain

 

 

And finally their project for the night was a Nugget box. This project was defiantly my favorite of the 3, and I think it was their favorite too.

Inks: Chocolate Chip and Pretty in Pink

Card Stock: Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White

Accessories: Pretty in Pink Grosgrain, mini glue dots and address labels

Tuesday Technique Tutorial- Emboss Resist

Today's Tutorial is on Emboss Resist. I know it is an oldie but I really like the effect it gives. Plus it is one of the more simpler techniques which I thought might be fun to run through some easier ones frist. It is probably one of my favorite simple techniques; just because of the "POP" it has.

So on to the tutorial..... As usual everything is from Stampin' Up! unless other wise noted.....

Supplies:

Heat Tool

VersaMark pad

Colored ink pad- I am using More Mustard

Embossing Buddy

CLEAR embossing powder

sponge

Light colored card stock cut to size- I am using Very Vanilla

Stamp image of your choice- I am using True Friend

Powder Pal (not in picture)

To start I like to cover my piece of card stock with an embossing buddy to be sure I don't have "flecks" around my image.

Nest you stamp you image in VersaMark ink and stamp it on you piece of card stock.

 

Quickly following the VersaMark step you want to cover the image in CLEAR embossing powder and knock of the extra into your Powder Pals tray.

Now you want to heat you image until the entire image is glossy and you can no longer see the embossing powder granules.

Next is my favorite step. Take you sponge and ink it up in the Colored ink you chose and rub in a circular motion over the image. As you go your image will "pop" through the ink. You can add more the make the ink darker if you wish. The darker the ink the more the "pop".

This step is not necessary but I think it helps the image "pop" through. I take a tissue and lightly rub it over the image to pull off the ink residue on it.

There you have it! Your done with the technique. Now just to finish your card or scrapbook page.

2am and still stamping...

Last night it took me quite a while to actually get sleepy. So I decided to do a scrapbook page for a group challenge. I don't have to much fall stamps left after the retiring of the lastcatalog. So I worked with the 1 set I have. That is one of the stipulations of the challenge is that everything has to be current Stuff from Stampin' Up!. Hope you like it.

Can't Sleep? STAMP!!!

As some of you know I go through these times where I just can't sleep. I call it "My time with God" because it sounds so much nicer then Insomnia. Anyway tonight is one of the nights; actually the last 2 weeks has been one of those nights. Some times I will clean house but tonight I just didn't feel like mopping the floors so I sat down to stamp instead. I did another one of Mojo Mondays 100 anniversary challenges.

So here you have it. This is what you get when you sit down to stamp at 1am.... As usual everything is from Stampin' Up! unless other wise noted.

Stamp Set: Inspired by Nature and Rhapsody in Deutsch (from the German catty)

Inks: Really Rust SWM, Pumpkin Pie SWM, Old Olive SWM & IP, Chocolate Chip IP

Accessories: 1" circle punch, scallop circle punch, scallop edge punch, tool kit, clear buttons, Old Olive twill (retired), hemp twine, snips and glue dots

Ghosting Technique

My goal is to have a Technique Tutorial each week. It will most likely fall on a Tuesday or Thursday but why not start it today with the card I posted earlier. So here we go...

 

 

 

What you will need:

A stamp set- a Bold image works best; I used Wings of Friendship

VersaMark Pad

Brayer

Colored Ink pad- I used pumpkin pie spectrum pad

Glossy White Card stock

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Instructions:

 

 

To start you will need to ink up your image in Versamark Ink

 

 

 

 

 

Stamp the versamark image on your glossy white card stock. I know it is hard to see your image but it will show through when you are done.

Leaving your Spectrum pad open you will need to ink up your brayer.

Now you need to roll your brayer over you image. You will need to reink your brayer and keep going. As you go you will see how much ink you need.

That's it. Now you just need to finish your card or Scrapbook page. Now it's your turn to try. Make sure when you make your card to come back and give us a link to get to it so we can see too.

Alles Liebe

I made this card on Wednesday while working on something else and just haven't had time to share it. It is Mojo Monday's 100 anniversary week so there has been a sketch each day this week. I didn't get to play with them all but I did get a few done that I will share with you today hopefully. So lets start with Wednesday. It is done with the Ghosting Technique which I have pictures to do a tutorial on soon so keep an eye out.
